Audit Keselamatan Jalan (Studi Kasus: Jalan Raya Kletek – Sidoarjo)
Abstract
Abstract
Traffic safety is a crucial aspect of road planning and engineering to reduce accident rates and improve comfort and transportation efficiency. This study aims to conduct a road safety audit on Jalan Raya Kletek, Sidoarjo, a busy national non-toll road with high traffic and commercial activity. The methodology includes geometric surveys, traffic conflict observations, and analysis of the existing road conditions and supporting facilities. Observation results show that 91% of traffic conflicts fall into the serious conflict category, with dominant conflict types being merging conflicts (44%) and rear-end conflicts (39%). Most conflicts involve motorcycles (61%) and cars (35%). Contributing factors include driver behavior, road geometry issues, inadequate pedestrian facilities, and shoulder space used for parking. Recommended interventions include traffic management at intersections, access restrictions, improvement of pedestrian infrastructure, and regulation of land use around the road. This audit is expected to serve as a basis for sustainable road safety improvements.
