Background: Control of communicable and non-communicable diseases is carried out, among others, through health promotion efforts. Delivering priority health messages through radio spot broadcasts is an alternative media for health promotion in order to increase public knowledge and understanding during the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: This research was conducted to know the effectiveness of delivering priority health messages through radio spot media (the study was conducted on 4 radio stations in Semarang City). The hypothesis proposed in this study is whether there is a significant difference in the knowledge of radio listeners regarding priority health messages before and after radio spot broadcasts. The research was conducted in May and June 2021. Method: This research is quantitative research and uses a pre-experimental design method. The research population is listeners at four radio stations in Semarang City, namely Radio Gajahmada 102.4 FM, Radio POP 103.6 FM, Radio Idola 92.6 FM, and Radio Sonora 98.9 FM. The sampling technique used is incidental. The sample of this research consists of listeners of the four radio stations who have filled out a questionnaire regarding the links provided by radio broadcasters. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate. Univariate analysis was carried out on several variables, including age, education, and knowledge of respondents regarding priority health messages before and after the radio spot broadcast. Meanwhile, bivariate analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon statistical test with a 95% confidence level. The aim was to determine whether or not there was a significant difference in the knowledge of radio listeners before and after the radio spot broadcast. The results showed that of the 1395 total respondents, most were women, 724 people (51.9%), most of them had a high school education, and 1057 people were undergraduate (76.5%), and most of them were 21 years old, as many as 92 people (6.6%). ). The results of the Wilcoxon statistical test are known to have p p-value <0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in the knowledge of radio listeners before and after the radio spot broadcast.
