Pendidikan Karakter di Sekolah Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Muhammadiyah 1 Paciran: Antara Moral dan Toleransi

Pendidikan karakter di sekolah berbasis agama memiliki peran yang tepat dalam membentuk generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga memiliki moral yang kuat. Melalui pendidikan berbasis nilai-nilai agama, terutama pada sekolah Madrasah Aliyah Muhamadiyah1 Paciran mengusahakan menanamkan prinsip moral dan etika yang dapat membentuk perilaku positif kepada peserta didik. Namun, dalam masyarakat yang beragam suku dan budaya, pendidikan karakter juga dihadapkan pada tantangan untuk mengembangkan sikap toleransi terhadap keberagaman. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran sekolah berbasis agama dalam menyeimbangkan pendidikan moral dengan pengembangan sikap toleransi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif, melalui studi literatur dan wawancara dengan pendidik di beberapa sekolah berbasis agama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Madrasah Aliyah Muhamadiyah1 Paciran memiliki potensi besar dalam pembentukan karakter, namun pendekatan yang diterapkan masih perlu dikembangkan agar dapat membina sikap toleransi tanpa mengurangi nilai-nilai keagamaan. dampak dari temuan ini adalah pentingnya perumusan kurikulum yang mengintegrasikan ajaran moral dan nilai toleransi sehingga peserta didik dapat menghormati perbedaan dan menjalani kehidupan sosial yang harmonis.
