A Content Analysis of Undu-unduon as a Cultural Reflection of Saluan Ethnic Group

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi Undu-unduon, cerita rakyat lisan masyarakat Salua di Sulawesi Tengah, sebagai media pelestarian budaya dan pembentukan identitas. Terlepas dari tekanan globalisasi dan perubahan teknologi, narasi ini tetap penting dalam mentransmisikan nilai-nilai lintas generasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kearifan moral, sosial, dan budaya yang terkandung dalam cerita dan untuk menjelaskan perannya dalam mencerminkan identitas Saluan. Dengan menggunakan analisis konten Krippendorff, sembilan cerita rakyat diperiksa melalui wawancara dengan pembawa budaya, koleksi yang diterbitkan, dan rekaman digital. Setiap cerita dikodekan ke dalam kategori nilai moral, hubungan sosial, keyakinan budaya, dan penanda identitas. Temuan ini mengungkapkan bahwa kisah-kisah tersebut menanamkan pelajaran tentang kejujuran, tanggung jawab, disiplin, dan rasa hormat terhadap orang tua, sementara juga memperingatkan terhadap keserakahan, pengkhianatan, dan ketidaktaatan. Cerita seperti Burung Popongku, Danau Dowiwi, dan Banangsina menyoroti disiplin, kekerabatan, dan ketahanan sebagai elemen inti dari pandangan suku Saluan. Pada saat yang sama, mereka mengkritik perilaku negatif yang mengganggu harmoni sosial. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa Undu-unduon berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai hiburan tetapi juga sebagai instruksi moral dan pelestarian budaya, menawarkan wawasan tentang bagaimana tradisi lisan dapat digunakan untuk memperkuat pendidikan karakter dan mempertahankan identitas etnis dalam konteks modern.
